Building Ethical and Intergenerational Digital Citizenship in Nigeria

This policy brief examines how Nigeria can strengthen digital citizenship by going beyond technical skills to promote responsible technology use. Drawing on SAYDi’s Digital Storytelling and Intergenerational Collaboration Project in Kwara State, it explores how practical learning, ethical reflection, and knowledge sharing between generations can help people engage more responsibly in digital spaces. The brief highlights key lessons from the project and recommends practical steps for integrating ethical digital citizenship into digital literacy programmes, supporting community storytelling, and making digital inclusion more meaningful.
